Some minor game adjustments
Since February 2025, I am putting new versions of the game here, so in addition to the changes I have made since November 2024 (gameplay tweaks, AY sound, background music, extended memory, error fixes, etc.) that I have been gradually releasing on Spectrum Computing, here are some new updates:
At lower levels, the monkey throws barrels diagonally less often than before, and at higher levels, he throws them diagonally more often than before.
In the second game stage, Mario walks even slower against the direction of the conveyor belts than before (closer to the original arcade game).
The monkey "dance" at the end of the game has the same music as the arcade game.
An error in the sound of falling springs in the third game stage is fixed.
The game can now use the extended memory of the Didaktik Gama computer. It does the same thing as on Spectrum 128K, so the introduction and control screen appear before every new game. Didaktik Gama uses a different organization of extended memory than Spectrum 128K, so it was necessary to modify the part of the program that manages memory pages.
